The Tippecanoe School Corporation has appointed Marisa Arms as an assistant principal at Klondike Elementary School. Arms, who was recently named a Golden Apple teacher by Greater Lafayette Commerce, has five years of teaching experience – the past two years at Burnett Creek Elementary. She holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and a master's from Ball State University.
Klondike Elementary School Principal Scott Peters says Arms will be a good fit for Klondike. "Mrs. Arms is an effective, caring teacher with valuable experience developing curriculum that incorporates 21st Century skills into the learning process," says Peters.
Arms will oversee student discipline, special education, support staff and other duties at the school of almost 1,000 young learners.
"I will dearly miss the students, parents and staff at Burnett Creek who have enriched my life beyond measure, but am excited to embark upon this new chapter in my career," says Arms. "I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve as the new assistant principal at Klondike Elementary."
